- Mission
- At Hope Paws Support Fund, we help dog owners cover unexpected medical bills, provide rescue organizations with the funding to save and transport dogs in need, and connect dogs with loving homes through a trusted network. Together, we ensure every dog gets a second chance at a healthy, happy life.
- Programs or services
- We fund vet care, rescue pulls, transport, and adoption – no dog left behind.
- Detailed programs
- 1.Emergency Veterinary Care Fund:
Provides life-saving veterinary care for dogs in crisis. We pay veterinary clinics directly for emergency surgeries, critical care hospitalization, diagnostic imaging, and urgent medications.
Who it helps:
Low-income pet owners AND 501(c)(3) rescue organizations. We help families who cannot afford emergency vet care and rescues who need support for dogs in their care.
How it operates:
Pet owners or rescues apply through our online form. If approved, we contact the applicant and their veterinary clinic. We pay the clinic directly whenever possible (or reimburse after treatment if needed).
Expected impact:
10–12 dogs receive immediate, life-saving medical care. Families stay together. Rescues continue their work.
Eligibility:
Pet owner or 501(c)(3) rescue organization
Dog in need of emergency veterinary care
Case must be life-threatening or urgent
Itemized estimate from a licensed veterinarian required
Financial need – unable to afford full cost of treatment
2.Rescue & Pull Support:
Provides funding to help rescues pull dogs from high-risk shelters. We cover pull fees, medical checks, transport, crates, food, and foster supplies – eliminating the financial pressure so rescues can focus on saving dogs.
Who it helps:
501(c)(3) rescue organizations that pull dogs from high-risk shelters.
How it operates:
Rescues apply for funding to support a specific pull. If approved, we provide funding to cover the full cost of pulling the dog – from the pull fee to the supplies needed for foster care.
Expected impact:
24 dogs pulled from euthanasia lists and given a second chance.
Eligibility:
501(c)(3) rescue organization
Dog identified at a high-risk shelter
Rescue ready to pull but needs funding support
3.Dog Transportation Network:
Funds safe transport for dogs moving from overcrowded shelters to foster and adoptive homes across the United States.
Who it helps:
Dogs in shelters, rescue organizations, foster families, and adoptive homes.
How it operates:
We provide funding for fuel reimbursement, commercial transport, supplies, and hotel stays for volunteers. Every dollar moves a dog closer to safety.
Expected impact:
Up to 24 dogs transported from overcrowded shelters to foster and adoptive homes across the U.S.
Eligibility:
Dog in need of transport
Rescue or foster ready to receive the dog
Transport plan in place (volunteer or commercial)
4.Spay/Neuter Assistance:
Prevents unwanted litters and reduces shelter overpopulation by helping families afford spay/neuter surgery. We pay $100 directly to the clinic on behalf of pet owners who cannot afford the full cost.
Who it helps:
Low-income pet owners with dogs or cats that are not yet spayed or neutered.
How it operates:
Pet owners apply through our online form. - Target Audience

Required materials: Application form, veterinary estimate, pet information
Processing time: 1-3 business days (urgent cases prioritized)
Funding: Limited – based on urgency and available funds - Application tips
- Be specific – Tell us exactly what the money will pay for (e.g., "veterinary care for Suds," "transport for Funshine Bear"). Line-item budgets are stronger than general "operational support."
Show alignment – We prioritize rescue and emergency care for pugs, small breeds, and seniors. If your request falls outside that, explain why it's urgent or uniquely connected.
Highlight your history – Repeat grantees stand out. If you've received funding from us before, share what you accomplished with it.
State urgency clearly – Emergency requests are reviewed quickly, but only if you clearly spell out the medical or logistical deadline.
Double-check everything – Typos in contact info, amounts, or animal names can delay your review. Proofread before you submit. - Additional grant guidelines
- One animal per request – Submit separate applications for each animal unless they share a single, clearly linked medical or transport need.
Named animals only – We fund individual animals with names and identifiable stories. Generic requests (e.g., "help for 5 dogs") will not be considered.
Proof of veterinary need – For medical/emergency requests, include a vet estimate or invoice. We may verify directly with the clinic.
No retroactive funding – We do not reimburse expenses already incurred. Submit before treatment or transport takes place.
Maximum per grant – $1,000 per animal, unless exceptional circumstances are documented and approved in advance.
Reporting required – Within 30 days of funding, you must provide a brief update (photo + outcome) for the animal supported.
One active grant at a time – Organizations may only have one open grant with us at any given time. Previous grants must be closed out before a new application is submitted.
Payment method – All grants are issued via PayPal to the organization's registered account.
No administrative or overhead fees – 100% of funds must go directly to the animal's care or transport. We do not cover staffing, marketing, or facility costs.
Right to decline – We reserve the right to decline any request without explanation, though we typically provide feedback when possible. - Restrictions / what you do not fund
- Routine or preventative care (vaccines, check-ups, wellness exams)
Non-veterinary expenses (food, bedding, grooming – except when part of rescue pull support)
Pre-existing conditions not currently life-threatening (for Emergency Vet Fund)
Costs incurred before application approval (except in rare, pre-approved cases)
